Shasta Damboree
The Shasta Damboree is an annual springtime event that celebrates the construction of Shasta Dam. The Shasta Damboree includes a pancake breakfast at Shasta Lake Fire Hall, and a parade on Shasta Dam Boulevard in the City of Shasta Lake.
Sundial Bridge at Turtle Bay
The Sundial Bridge at Turtle Bay is a beautiful, unique pedestrian bridge that crosses the Sacramento River and connects the Nationally-designated trail system in Redding, California, with the Turtle Bay Exploration Park and McConnell Arboretum. Cost: There is no charge to visit or walk across the Sundial Bridge!
Shasta Dam Tours
The friendly and knowledgeable tour guide staff at Shasta Dam invites you to come along on a free guided tour of the dam and power plant. Tours are offered 5 days a week during winter months, and daily in the summer. Tours include an elevator ride down inside the dam, a short walk through the dam, and over to the powerhouse for a chance to view the states largest hydroelectric generating station.
4th of July Celebration and Fun Run - Mt. Shasta
The start with a 2-mile fun walk, 2-mile youth race, 5-mile race. Entertainment & food tasting will be served along the course. Join in for a parade, train rides, sidewalk sale & fireworks over Lake Siskiyou. The events run July 4-7.
