The Gateway Lodge and Restaurant is located some 75 miles southeast of Fresno, CA, and about 40-miles east of Visalia, CA and some 2,000 ft. above the San Joaquin Valley, and just moments from the entrance to Sequoia National Park.
This scenic area has been an excellent location for The Gateway for three-quarters of a century. Built shortly after the Generals Highway opened in 1926, the restaurant was strategically located just outside the entrance to California's first national park was meant to lure Sequoia visitors from the road and cater to their every need, from food and drink to lodging.

Consisting of a riverside setting, outdoor seating, banquet room, bar, dinner and drink specials, special events, Sunday Brunch, and adjoining lodging facilities it is easy to see why The Gateway is a favorite restaurant and lodge for so many returning Sequoia National Park vacationers.

Accommodations at The Gateway range from standard rooms with one or two beds, to a fully equipped two bedroom River House with a private patio overlooking the Kaweah River. All rooms and cabins are well maintained and updated frequently. They feature Air Conditioning and are all Non-Smoking. Dish Network for movies and entertainment is available as well as a writing desks, in-room coffee makers, cozy comforters, fresh pillows and quality beds. In keeping with the simplified ideals of national parks rooms do not offer telephone service though calls can be placed from our reception desk.
