Fishing
Fishing
Fishing is allowed in most lakes of the national parks. There are varying regulations; some parks require a fishing license while others do not. All parks have fishing guidelines that you can get a hold of at the visitor’s centers and should be reviewed before embarking on a fishing expedition and followed closely to protect the parks habitat.
Snowshoeing
Snowshoeing
Many national parks do permit snowshoeing on marked trails in the winter. You may choose to venture out on your own or look into a guided park ranger tour offered by the National Park Service. These tours are generally available from late winter to late spring.
Hiking
Hiking Trails
No single piece of recreation gear can take you to the soul of a national park like a trusted pair of boots. Hiking is a fabulous activity to folks of all level abilities and ages. A good hike will allow you to take time to really see the beauties of the park.
Biking
Biking Trails
Although bikers are rarely allowed to ride off-trail or on foot paths in the national parks, it's still possible to find great rides. However most of the popular national parks do allow bikers to ride along paved roads. This is a great way to slow down and really see much that can be missed from inside a car.
