Hiking Trails
It has been said that the only way to truly experience a national park is by walking its trails. Redwoods has several trails that allow you to experience the best of the park in all its glory. You can stop by the visitors center to check out maps and guides.
Bicycle Trails
A 19-mile combination of roads and trails has been designated a bicycle trail. Ride this road to the Beach Road at Gold Bluffs and on to Fern Canyon, and then continue north on the Coastal Trail to Ossagon Trail.
Auto Tours
Self-guided tour of the Avenue of the Giants. Open daily year-round. Various stops along the Avenue are marked with interpretive panels, or pick up a self-guided brochure at the Visitor Center, or in boxes at either end of the scenic highway.
Fishing
Anglers will find good fishing in the Smith River for rainbow and cutthroat trout from late August until the rains begin. From October to February, salmon and steelhead provide challenging excitement. A fishing license is required.
