Q. Where is Redwood National Park Located?
A. Redwood National Park is located on the northwest Pacific coast of California, between the cities of Klamath Glen on the north and Trinidad on the south border or the park.

 

Q. What are some of the highlights of Redwood Park?
A. Redwood was created in October 1968 to protect the evergreen trees that grow here. Today Redwood National Park’s evergreen trees are the tallest living things on earth, growing up to 350 feet each. Redwood National Park boarders the Pacific Ocean and the spectacle of watching the Gray Whale migration in the fall is a highlight for many visitors here.

A. Visitation to the park is highest in June, July, August, and September and lowest in January.

 

Q. What is the weather like at Redwood National Park?
A. Summers are generally mild. Fog is often encountered near the coastline, with sunny, warmer weather more common inland. Winters are generally cool with considerable precipitation.  The average annual high is 65 degrees Fahrenheit with the high in January reaching 52 degrees and 68 degrees in July.

 

Q. What should I bring to wear when visiting Redwood Park?
A. Wear layers of clothing to accommodate cool to warm temperatures and good walking shoes for the slippery rain forest. Rain protection should be included at any time of year.
