Glacier Park

Glacier Park located in northwestern Montana has many interesting sights that the other national parks don't have. For example the completion of the Great Northern Railway allowed more people to enter the area; As a consequence the Glacier Park area has substantial ties to the era of the railroad. This can be witnessed in everything from park lodging, much of which was built to house railroad workers and later by for tourist also by the Great Northern, to the train stations still functioning today.

Glacier Park also houses more than a million acres of forests, alpine meadows, lakes, rugged peaks and glacial-carved valleys. Glacier Park is known to Native Americans as the "Shining Mountains" and the "Backbone of the World". This is a pristine area and a visiting to Glacier is a truly honorary experience. When you decide to vacation in Glacier National Park you are in many ways being taken back to another time, you are also able to be in the "now" as you begin to decompress from the stresses of every day life and begin to revaluate your goals and realign yourself with who you really wanted to be.

The best time to visit Glacier Park depends entirely on what you are looking for. The most temperate climate exists from mid-June to mid-September. These are peak months and though Glacier Park gets more than 2 million visitors per year it is still a far cry from other tourist destinations, and you will find much pleasure in hiking these trails, taking a guided tour of Going-to-the-Sun road or boating. In the winter you will find much more solitude but plenty of activity if you enjoy or want to take up cross country skiing, snowshoeing, or just terrific scenery.
