Everything about Denali National Park, Alaska is big: the scenery, the mountains, the incredible beauty, and the animals. The Tundra Wilderness Tour is an excellent way to spot the wildlife for which Alaska is so famous: moose, bear, wolves, caribou, Dall sheep ... along with small mammals and Denali's unique sub-arctic desert terrain. There are two general departure times for the Tundra Wilderness Tour. AM Tours generally depart between 5:20AM – 7:30AM. PM Tours generally depart between 1:30PM and 3:00PM. Exact departure times cannot be prebooked or guaranteed and are based on availability. When making reservations, be sure to request either an AM or PM tour. While a small snack is available on the tour, there are no concessions available once your tour starts.

During early May and late September, when the park road is still not fully accessible due to the harsh Alaskan winters, a modified Tundra Wilderness Tour, called the Teklanika Tour, is available. This tour mirrors the Tundra Wilderness Tour, however, only travels 30-miles into the park and is 4-5 hours in length. Once the park road has full access, the tour will automatically be converted to the Tundra Wilderness Tour.

With a focus on the rich, cultural history of Denali National Park, the Denali Natural History Tour incorporates interpretive programs that depict the diverse native and early pioneer influences that make Denali special. Learn about the history and culture that surrounds you at a Living History presentation while visiting Savage Cabin, and learn more about local native culture at Primrose Ridge. Your driver/naturalist will provide a great introduction to the landscape, geology and history of Denali National Park. The Denali Natural History Tour also stops at the Wilderness Access Center for a viewing of “Across Time & Tundra” an award winning presentation on the building of the park road. 1. All rates are subject to NPS and Doyon/ARAMARK Denali National Park Concession Joint Venture Approval.
2. Opening and closing dates are dependent on whether and NPS road maintenance.
3. Wilderness and Natural History Tours include a $10.00 Denali National Park entrance fee.
4. Alaska State Law requires all children four years old and younger to be in a car seat. Individuals are required to provide their own car seat.
5.One complimentary event ticket shall be provided for the escort of an escorted group with a minimum of twenty paid rooms or passengers. This is subject to the discretion of Doyon/ARAMARK Denali National Park Concession Joint Venture. Complimentary tour tickets exclude the $10.00 National Park Service entrance fee and must be paid by the tour company.
