Climate Change Affects National Parks
The weather has a profound effect on the earth. It is especially interesting and important to find out how the changes in climate are effecting our national parks. Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks are teaming up with three federal agencies to study the effects of climate change on the ecosystems of the southern Sierra Nevada.
At stake are the effects on the giant sequoia trees and Ponderosa pines. How and if they are adapting to climate change determines many things about the ecosystem of this fragile area.
There are some studies currently being conducted in the area but this weeek the participating agencies announced a symposium that will be held in the fall about global warming’s impact on snowpack, water tables and other natural features.
The twin parks of Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Park are gently marvelous sights. To make your national park lodging reservations today call National Park Reservations today toll free 1-866-875-845. Or you may log on at www.nationalparkreservations.com for online reservations.Â
