Yosemite Year Round

Yosemite is a treat no matter the time year.  Yosemite in winter is just as adventurous and beautiful as it is in the summer months.  Activities abound in both the summer and the winter.  Personally I like taking a national park vacation in the winter when the crowds are thinned out and the weather isn’t quite so hot!  Whatever time of year you choose to visit Yosemite know that there is plenty to do.

Summer of winter you will be able to visit some of the most popular and astounding sites by hiking in your own group.  You will be able to experience the many waterfalls, El Capitan, and the Yosemite Valley.  If you are looking for a more structured activity look into any of the following: Ranger Walks, Photography Walks, Free Art Classses, Indian Cultural Program, Evening Programs, Horse-Drawn Stage Rides, History Center Programs, Outdoor Adventures at the Mountaineering School, and Live Theater in Yosemite.  There are also a number of tours from Big Trees Tour to Tuolumne Meadows

Tour and Hikers Bus.  For your convenience more information on programs and tours can be found at the Valley Visitors Center.

Working in a reservations center one fact that I’ve become very familiar with is that lodging reservations must be made as early as possible.  Many folks who call for reservations are too late and it is a frustrating fact that they will need to amend their vacation plans by either choosing new dates or changing their destination.  To get the reservations you need make reservations at least 6 months in advance.  This will also give you a guide to planning the rest of your trip as you will have a home “base” to plan from.
