The water-ways are open! One of the best parts about summer are the boating opportunity to play in and on the lakes, streams and rivers of the national park system. Clear days and clean water make the national park the ideal place to enjoy some relaxing time on the water.

Most national parks have boat rentals and docks to set sail from.  In addition areas like Lake Mead, Lake Powell and Lake Havasu offer rare experience of fun in the sun — all day long! Boat rentals range from canoes to houseboats and sailboats.  Check your lake before making the trip out and ask about requirements and prohabitions.  In many areas there are noise ordinances that limit use of personal watercraft (such as jet skiies).  These are mostly regulations on national park water-ways.
