Snow Shoe Hike
Winter at Tenaya Lodge offers some of the most spectacular views of the year. See snow-draped mountains and powder-covered trees on a guided hike through the stunning landscape. Day and evening hikes available.
Geocaching
Geocaching is the new adventure game utilizing high-tech GPS technology. By using a hand-held GPS, Tenaya guests search for hidden treasure in the national forest surrounding the hotel. The caches are located along trails that wind through towering trees, grantie groves, whispering creeks and mountain meadows.
Lead Horse Corral
Youngsters under seven will enjoy a 30-minute ride around the ‘ol corral on a gentle lead horse. Challenging Ride in the Forest

A one-hour ride through the Sierra National Forest is available for riders of all levels.
Horseback Ride in the Mariposa Grove of the Giant Sequoias
Ride to the Giant Sequoias inside Yosemite. The afternoon’s high riding adventure includes four hours of scenic trail riding.
Fly Fishing
Take a trip to area creeks, rivers and lakes. There are excursions available for all levels, from the beginner to the seasoned expert. Expert guides offer daily classes and fishing equipment can be rented. Rods, poles, tackle and maps are available at the Activities Desk.
Adventure Club
Kids Adventure Club is the lodge’s “edu-tainment” program for kids ages 5 to 12. It’s an adventure in rock climbing and archery, nature walks, movies and more. From 9am-1pm with lunch included in this program. Advance registration is a must.
Personalized Baby Sitting Service
The Events Staff can recommend babysitters for infants and children. Advance notice is needed.
Jamboree Cookout
Experience a taste of the old west with a Jamboree Cookout, including a wagon ride, BBQ dinner, campfire singing and marshmallow roasting with the cowboys of Yosemite.
Yosemite Sugar Pine Railroad
Take a one-hour narrated trip along the tracks of logging history on an old-fashioned shay locomotive. Rides scheduled daily in summer.
Moonlight Special
Train ride under the Sierra moon and a plated western BBQ. Entertainment by the Sugar Pine Trio. Offered on a limited basis.
Gold Panning
Pan for gold, listen to a storyteller, spin golden tales and take a self guided tour through a replica of a miner’s cabin.
Rafting
Whitewater thrill seekers can make a day of running rapids on the Merced River. Included in the fee is a wet suit and helmet rental, life jackets, refreshments, lunch and spectacular scenery on a wild ride.
