Summer at John Muir Lodge

Filed under: Uncategorized — National Park Reservations @ 11:57 am

One of the most memorable places you’ll stay when you visit Sequoia/King Canyon National Park is the John Muir Lodge. Thanks to the work of John Muir and other early conservationists, the natural beauty of Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks has been preserved from the depths of the Kings Canyon to the summit of Mount Whitney in Sequoia National Park. This lodge was built as a tribute to Muir undaunted spirit.

Summer is the busiest time of year in the parks for both people and animals. The National Park Service offers its most extensive array of programs during this time of year for adults and children. Programs presented by the park rangers may range from a Star Talk program, at which you can enjoy the beauty of the Sierra night sky, to the Sawed Tree Mystery tour of a sequoia that was nearly sawed completely through a century ago, yet is still alive and growing. You’ll find vibrant wildflowers in the high-country meadows and the water of the parks’ many beautiful lakes in this true national treasure.
