Happy Days
 ![]()
Today is Labor Day! Obviously I am working, but that doesn’t mean the day to celebrate the American Worker is being ignored. In the office we have been treated to a chicken lunch and sodas. Labor Day is traditionally observed with cookouts, weekend trips, fun events or just plain relaxation. The fact that it’s on a Monday gives many people the luxury of a three day weekend and those who live near a national park often use this time to explore the last rays of a waning summer.Â
Â
National parks located in the west are still warm and sunny with only hints of the impending fall and winter on the way. Nights are getting colder and the air is quite breezy now. In the east fall colors are setting in, turning lush green forests to a yellow hue with sprays of red and orange creeping in.Â
Â
There are still many lodging opportunities at national parks across the country. Make this last month of summer count and take a trip to a national park near you.
